Your scoring report includes details that contribute to the trust given by landlords. It may include your rental history, adherence to contract terms, and feedback from previous landlords.

Is my personal data secure on this platform?

Absolutely. The platform adheres to GDPR regulations, and access is granted only by invitation with your consent. Your data is not made public, and sharing is restricted to invitations, ensuring the protection of your personal information.

Can I dispute information uploaded by the landlord?

LANDLORD

1. I registered as a landlord. What do I do now?

Add property - Fill in property address - Invite Tenant or share the code for the tenant to add themselves to the property listed and created by you.

2. The Tenant Accepted My Invitation

Once the invitation is accepted by the tenant, by creating an account, you can find them in the “New Applicants” section. We advise adding all tenants to the AST. This will enable you to maintain control over your property if one of them leaves.

3. How Do I See the Tenant’s History?

Click on “New Applicants” and purchase the tenant’s history. By doing this, with one click, you can see the tenant’s rental score from previous tenancies. It is marked with red if the tenant does not have a history and green if history is available.

4. Adding a Tenant to a Location

Click on "General Listings" then the "Action Button" and select "View Applicants". Approve or decline the tenant. By approving, you secure yourself a reliable tenant during the tenancy contract. Add contract dates in the platform, as well as the rent payment date.

5. Property Listed, Tenants Added. What Do I Do Now?

You don’t have to do anything further. Simply collect your rent as usual. The tenant must click the “Paid” button every month on the “Rental Payments” page. You, as a landlord, will then have 5 days to approve or decline the payment. This will influence the tenant’s rental score.

To make it easier for landlords, we have allowed a 5-day window to decline the payment. If not declined within this period, the payment will be automatically approved by the platform and will register the payment for that month. As a landlord, you will only need to access our “rent payment” service if the rent isn’t paid.

6. I Want to Use CheckATenant for HMO

CheckATenant is ideal for HMOs. Simply add the property and then add all tenants from the AST.

7. What Happens When a Tenant’s Contract Expires?

Simply extend the contract. If the tenant is on a rolling contract, simply add another X months and update once the tenant moves out or gives notice. It's important to keep contract terms updated at all times to avoid disputes and the risk of losing membership.

8. Rent Increase

CheckATenant does not take responsibility for any rent increase. This must be conducted by following the tenancy agreement terms, along with the proper notification. Declining a tenant’s payment on our platform without adhering to the correct “rent increase procedure” can lead to the cancellation of the landlord's account.




TENANT

1. Invitation Accepted

Two days prior to the rent payment due date, a green "Paid" button will become available in the “Rental Payments” section. Simply click on "Paid" and select the date when the rent was paid, every month.

2. Dispute Option

Equipped with a Dispute Option, you have the capability to challenge any inaccuracies in the information provided by the landlord. This feature is designed to ensure transparency and fairness in your rental experience.
